Why Storytelling Matters

Learning storytelling empowers church members to communicate their faith, life experiences, and personal testimonies in a way that is relatable, memorable, and emotionally meaningful. Stories break down barriers, build trust, and create deeper connections within the community because people don’t just remember facts — they remember stories that move them. In ministry, leadership, fellowship, and outreach, effective storytelling helps individuals share spiritual truths, inspire hope, and bring people together through shared understanding and compassion.

Introduction to Storytelling
Chapters 1 & 2. Share a story with a strong opening. 3 – 5 minutes
Chapter 3. Tell us a personal story where you overcame conflict. 3 – 5 minutes
Chapter 4. Share a story describing visual images of characters and backdrop 3 – 5 minutes
Chapter 5 & 6. Share a story using specific language to visualize the experience. 5 – 6 minutes
Chapter 7. Tell a positive outcome story using dialogue from each character. 5 – 6 minutes
Chapter 8. Share a story where you had an awakening moment. 5 – 6 minutes
